A Club Sports Team is an organization formed by individuals who are motivated by a common interest and desire to participate in a particular competitive sports activity. More specifically, club sports teams are formed so the participants can learn new skills, improve existing skills, engage in competition and enjoy recreational and social fellowship. This program emphasizes student leadership and direction as opportunities for learning through participation. Each team is responsible for the motivation, administration, support, and regeneration of their club.
The Club Sports Program at Appalachian State University is designed to offer opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to participate in a variety of competitive sports and recreational activities. Each team is organized and conducted by its members under the direction of the Club Sports Council.
